GUITAR QUARTET
Primavera porteña (Buenos Aires Spring) is written in 1970 by Astor PIAZZOLLA. The piece was scored for his quintet of violin (viola), piano, electric guitar, double bass and bandoneón. By giving the adjective porteño, referring to those born in Buenos Aires, the Argentine capital city, Piazzolla gives an impression of the four seasons in Buenos Aires. Rujero is a popular dance compiled in Gaspar Sanz’s book “Music Instruction on the Spanish Guitar”. Rujero is written for solo guitar in dotted style.

It is usually attributed to Vincenzo Galilei, original for lute, also known as “La Volta” and “Italian”. The accompanying guitar presents harmonies and counterpoints different from the original.

Score for guitar trio of Siciliana (Sonata BWV 1031) by J. S. BACH – Originally for flute and harpsichord. The Siciliana, or Siciliano, is the second movement of Sonata BWV 1031. The beautifully written flute melody is arranged for guitar 1, while guitars 2 and 3 handle the harmonic part of the harpsichord (the original is in G minor, but this arrangement is transposed to A minor to facilitate its performance on the guitars).

GUITAR DUO
English: Songs and Dances; each originally published singly under the Spanish title Canción y Danza, is the title of a collection of 15 pieces by Federico Mompou, written between 1918 and 1972. All were written for the piano, except No. 13 for guitar and No. 15 for organ.
Each piece consists of an introductory slow Cançó, followed by a more animated Dansa in a related key but not necessarily in the same time signature. They are mostly based on existing Catalan folk tunes, although some of them are original works.
